Nexus 5 Deal Chops Price Ahead of Nexus 6 Release

A brand new Nexus 5 deal is chopping the price of a Google’s smartphone down as Nexus smartphone buyers await the heavily rumored Nexus 6. Lately more details continue to surface suggesting its coming soon, and now a good deal has surfaced on the Nexus 5 that may have buyers mixed on what to buy.

Google’s Nexus 5 is the only Nexus smartphone sold through the Google Play Store. Thanks to solid hardware, updated software including Android 4.4.4 KitKat, and a price tag that has kept this device rather popular for nearly a year.

Thanks to a low price tag when initially announced in October of 2013, the Nexus 5 hasn’t been a phone that we’ve seen too many deals for, as it’s already priced low, but with a new Nexus release looming a few have started to surface more and more. If you’re interested in great hardware, excellent software, and a good phone all for a low price read on for more details.

Nexus 5 Problem

This isn’t the first Nexus 5 deal we’ve seen, but they don’t come around too often given the phone is already such a great price to begin with. That being said, today a brand new deal is delivering the White Nexus 5 (16GB) for only $315 over on eBay. This price is for a brand new factory unlocked Nexus 5 in white, a phone which usually retails for $349.

It’s worth noting that the white Nexus 5 is currently sold out and out of stock on the Google Play Store, leaving buyers with the black option, a more expensive $399 32GB flavor, or the bright red variant. This chops $34.99 off the price of the phone, and to add a little extra in they’re offering free shipping nearly worldwide.

Again this is only for the 16GB White Nexus 5. Offering the phone for $315 rather than the regular $349 price from the Google Play Store, Amazon, and other retailers. Of course deals of this don’t last long, so if you’re interested you better act fast.

The past few months have been filled with reports and rumors of a new Nexus 6 coming. Possibly as soon as late next week with a rumored October 15th announcement and November 1st reveal. However, the new Nexus 6 reportedly will have a massive 5.92-inch display. A size that’s bigger than the LG G3, Galaxy Note 3, and even the new Galaxy Note 4 coming out next week.

This has lead many Android and Nexus faithfuls to look elsewhere, as a phone coming in at 6-inches may be too big for many. If the size of the Nexus 6 has turned you off to the next Nexus, this brand new Nexus 5 deal is probably something worth checking out.

For now we’re hearing Google’s new Nexus 6 will have a 5.92-inch Quad HD display, a powerhouse quad-core processor with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and an improved 13 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization. Add in the latest Android L release and a big 3,200 mAh battery, with front facing speakers to boot, and it is certainly a phone many are highly anticipating.

That being said, the size is possibly too big for many, and we’ve yet to hear any rumors regarding a price tag. While we’re expecting some sort of announcement to come around October 15th or 16th regarding the Nexus 6, Nexus 9, or Android L, this deal will be over by then.

Grab the Nexus 5 today while it’s available for cheap, or expect a few more Nexus 5 deals to start emerging once the new Nexus 6 makes its debut.
