Nexus 6 Cases Available from Google Play

Now that Google’s brand new Nexus 6 smartphone is arriving on the doorsteps of eager buyers and becoming available from carriers around the United States, the company has also released a new case option on the Google Play Store.

Earlier this month a few Nexus 6 accessories arrived on Google Play but weren’t yet available, and starting today at least one is finally available now for those interested in getting a Nexus 6 case for some added protection.

With Google’s 5.96-inch flagship smartphone now shipping from Motorola.com, the Google Play Store, Sprint, Best Buy, and soon from T-Mobile and AT&T buyers will likely be looking for a case, and one official Nexus 6 case is now for sale directly from the Google Play Store.

It appears that Google has tapped the popular accessories manufacturer CaseMate to design and deliver cases and accessories for the Nexus 6, as two different options are on the Google Play Store. However, only one of the two cases is available to purchase today. That being the Nexus 6 Naked Tough Case and Kickstand.

A lightweight, durable, and completely clear tough case has been released to protect the large smartphone from the elements, or in case of a drop, but it isn’t cheap and will run prospective buyers $35.00 and ships in 1-2 business days. At least according to the Google Play Store.

Google’s new Naked Tough Case for the Nexus 6 offers a dual-layer protection design with TPU bumpers, chrome buttons to keep the device looking sleek while the rest of the case is clear and see-through, an impact resistant hard shell design, and is finished off with a kickstand as an additional feature.

The kickstand is nice as users will be able to prop up the Nexus 6 on a table or desk to enjoy 1080p video, Netflix, YouTube and more on that crisp 5.96-inch 2k display and dual front facing speakers.

Again, the new CaseMate Nexus 6 Tough Case is $35.00, available now on the Google Play Store, and should ship within 1-2 business days. The other wallet flip case listed has yet to become available, but when it does we’ll update so buyers can decide if they’d like to shell out $40.00 for it instead.

As a reminder, there’s plenty of cases available from Amazon and other sources for a lower price point, but being sold through the Google Play Store promises a good fit, as it’s technically an official Nexus 6 accessory or case, vs a 3rd party option sold on eBay or through other online outlets.
