The Madden 16 release date arrives in one week as gamers can line up for a midnight release.

This comes five-days after the early Madden 16 release date on Xbox One for gamers who subscribe to EA Access for $5 a month who can start playing the new Madden this week.

It is Madden Season and while we haven’t seen the first Madden 16 ad yet, with the release date coming in a week here is a fast refresher on the important Madden 16 release date information.

Madden 16 Release Date and Time

The Madden 16 release date is August 25th at 12:01 AM Eastern on digital and on disk at midnight release events.

Madden 16 release times all happen at this time, so if you are on Central the Madden 16 release date is August 24th at 11:01 PM and on the west coast at 9:01 PM. This is the case for digital downloads and for disks if you buy from a store doing a midnight release. You just don’t need to wait past Midnight eastern.

There is also a special Madden 16 Xbox One bundle that is available on August 18th with a digital copy of Madden 16 and a free year of EA Access. You can’t download the digital copy on the 18th, but with EA Access you can play Madden 16 on the 20th. The Madden 16 Xbox One Bundle is $399 and includes a 1TB hard drive.

Madden 16 Versions

Madden 16 is available for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PS3. There is no Madden 16 for Wii U, PS Vita or PC. EA did not yet announce what the differences are between the new and old consoles.

There are two versions of Madden 16 for gamers to buy. The base version of Madden 16 is $59.99 and it comes with some pre-order bonuses for Madden Ultimate Team players, but most MUT players will want the special edition.

Madden 16 Deluxe Edition includes $50 in added value with 36 Ultimate Team Pro Packs and a Playmaker Pack. If you are a Madden Ultimate Team player, this is worth the $10 premium that pushes the price to $69.99. This is available on all consoles.

Gamers who played Madden Ultimate Team mode can sign up for MUT Rewards to reach special levels and earn gifts that you can use to unlock Madden 16 packs, player items and contracts.

This includes packs you buy with real money or packs you buy with coins, so even gamers who rely on completing challenges to unlock Madden 16 Pro Packs can join the rewards.

No Madden 16 Demo

EA confirmed that there is no Madden 16 demo. The company instead offers a full version of the game as a 10-hour trial on Xbox One if you pay for EA Access.

This is the second year without a Madden 16 demo and it is unlikely that there will be any type of free trial or demo in the future.

Madden 16 Deal Cuts Price to $8

If you are upgrading from Madden 15 to Madden 16 you can get the new game for as low as $8 when you trade in Madden 15 at Best Buy.

For a short time Best Buy offers $15 for Madden 15 on PS3 and Xbox 360 and $20 for PS4 and Xbox One. You also get a $10 coupon that bumps the value up to $25 or $30. If you pre-order Madden 16 at Best Buy you get a $10 reward credit in the future.

Gamers Club Unlocked members also score a trade-in bonus and a 20% discount on the game that can cut the price down as low as $8 after stacking all the discounts and using the reward on something else. However you slice it, this is an incredible deal.

The timing is no surprise considering the new Madden game arrives every year, but this is the date you need to mark on your calendar as the start of Madden Season.
