Best iOS 8 Cydia Tweaks for Apple Music

If you’re wanting to take things to the next level with Apple Music on your jailbroken iPhone or iPad, here are the best iOS 8 Cydia tweaks for Apple Music.

Apple Music was launched alongside iOS 8.4, which released in late June, but just a couple hours after that, TaiG released an iOS 8.4 jailbreak that would allow users to jailbreak the latest version of iOS at the time, making it one of the quickest jailbreak releases for a new version of iOS that we’ve seen.

There are a ton of Cydia tweaks that are worth checking out, but we’ve never truly covered any Cydia tweaks meant for the new Apple Music app, and now that jailbreak developers have had some time to develop some cool tweaks for the new app, now is the time to feature some of the best ones that you should check out.

Apple Music is still in its infancy, so there are a lot of things that need fixed and updated (as with any new software), but until Apple vastly improves the interface of Apple Music, jailbreakers can at least fix some of those annoyances using Cydia tweaks, and are some of the best ones you can download and install right now.

Apollo

If you’re looking for one of the best Cydia tweaks for Apple Music, look no further than Apollo.

Apollo adds a handful of features to the Apple Music app, including different swipe gestures that can be used in the different viewing modes and even in Control Center, as well as on the lock screen.

There’s also an auto-pause feature that pauses the music if you turn down the volume to zero, and you can even add a bookmark in the middle of a song to save that song’s position so that you can come back to it later.

You can also hide certain buttons and tabs if you never use them, like the Connect tab at the bottom, which is personally something I’ll never really use.

Mix It Up

One of the biggest complaints about Apple Music is the lack of a shuffle button, allowing the music app to play random songs in your music library in a random order.

However, a Cydia tweak called Mix It Up does one simple thing: It adds a shuffle button to Apple Music. This was a feature that was going to be added to the paid version of Apollo, but the developer decided against it and released it as its own jailbreak tweak.

HeartTransplant

From the same developer of Apollo and Mix It Up, HeartTransplant is a Cydia tweak that adds one big convenience to Apple Music.

Train Apple about the music you like.

When this tweak is enabled, tapping on the heart icon of a song will automatically add that song to your music and get downloaded for offline listening. It’s the ultimate automation feature in Apple Music that users deserve.

The only downside is that this doesn’t work when liking an entire album due to the way the tweak is coded, but hopefully the developer will figure something out for that soon enough.

Gauss 2

If you’re not a big fan of the look of Apple Music, a Cydia tweak called Gauss 2 allows you to customize the Apple Music interface and change around color schemes quickly and easily.

The app provides several things that you can change, including tint color, text color, the amount of blur you want to apply, as well as the blur saturation and tint.

It’s perhaps not a tweak that everyone is willing to use, but if you want to breathe new like into the Apple Music app, this is the tweak that can do it.

MusicMod

Like Apollo, MusicMod is a Cydia tweak that allows you to customize a handful of things in Apple Music.

You can hide all sorts of things in the app, including recent playlists, recently radio stations played, and playback history. You can also hide some of the tabs down at the bottom, like the Connect and Radio tabs.

The tweak even allows you to rotate the app to show in landscape mode, which can be great for those who prefer apps in landscape.

CustomCover

If you’re all about the cover art, then CustomCover is a Cydia tweak that you’ll want to check out.

CustomCover allows you to customize and create custom themes for lock screen artwork and cover art in the Apple Music app. There are a handful of default themes to choose from or you can create your own.

You can also choose to have album artwork display as the wallpaper while on the lock screen, which can give you a full-screen preview of what song is playing. You can also choose to hide the lock screen controls completely.

iTunes Radio Unlimited

If you hate ads and a limited number of skips in iTunes Radio, a jailbreak tweak can unlock all of this.

iTunes Radio Unlimited does two things: It adds unlimited skips so that you can skip a song anytime without any limits, and it also gets rid of ads so that you can have an ad-free listening experience.

There are no settings to configure — just install and you’ll be ready to go!
