The new Apple iPhone Upgrade Plan makes it easier to buy the iPhone 6s now and upgrade to the iPhone 7 next year.

Apple announced the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus today and a new iPhone Upgrade plan that offers a new way to buy your iPhone in an Apple Store, and that allows you to upgrade to a new iPhone every year.

We’ve already seen carriers chop support for two-year contracts at Apple and through various retailers, and the new iPhone Upgrade Plan is Apple’s jump into the game with a 24-month payment plan with 0% interest.

Here’s what we know about the iPhone Upgrade Plan that starts with the iPhone 6s release date on September 25th.

The new iPhone Upgrade plan is designed for users who want an iPhone 6s now and an iPhone 7 later.

You can only sign up for the iPhone Upgrade Plan at an Apple Retail Store in the U.S. There is no option to use this in other countries and there is no way to do this online.

The iPhone Upgrade Plan is $32 a month for the iPhone 6s and $37 a month for the iPhone 6s Plus. The payments total $768 for the iPhone 6s and $888 for the iPhone 6s Plus.

If you use this plan, you will likely only keep the iPhone for a year, which means the iPhone 6s is $384 with AppleCare+ and the iPhone 6s Plus is $444. This assumes you upgrade after one year.

This price is higher than what you pay with a carrier iPhone payment plan or outright, but it includes AppleCare+, which may make the premium worthwhile for many users. AppleCare+ is normally $99 for a two-year period.

With the new iPhone Upgrade Plan consumers are can buy the iPhone 6s now an are eligible for an annual upgrade. This means the iPhone 7 release, or whatever Apple announces in 2016, will let users upgrade then.

The iPhone you get is an unlocked model, and even though there are activation requirements there are more LTE bands inside for easier user while traveling globally.

When you upgrade you will need to trade in the old iPhone to Apple instead of selling it or using an iPhone trade-in service.

One catch to the new iPhone Upgrade Program is that you must activate the iPhone on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile or Verizon. There is no option for smaller carriers or pre-paid carriers. You also need a valid credit card for this to work.
