iOS 9.1 Release: 7 Important Details

Published

on

The iOS 9 release date has only been in stone for a few hours and Apple’s already talking about its successor. The iOS 9.1 update for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch is here and today we outline the most important things to know, right now, about the iOS 9.1 release.

At WWDC 2015, Apple confirmed an iOS 9 update for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. In June, the company outlined the devices that would be getting it, key iOS 9 features, and an iOS 9 release window. It saved the iOS 9 release date announcement for the fall.

Yesterday, Apple confirmed two iOS 9 releases. The first, the iOS 9 update that it promised to iPhone and iPad users back in June. The iOS 9 release date is now confirmed for September 16th, a week ahead of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus release date on September 25th.

iOS 9.0 will be the first version of iOS 9 that Apple delivers to iOS users but it won’t be the last. We know this for sure now.

Apple also confirmed an iOS 9.1 release or iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The iOS 9.1 update had been rumored ahead of yesterday’s launch event and the update is now confirmed for arrival. Though like the iOS 9 update back in June, the iOS 9.1 release is a bit mysterious.

With new details on hand and an iOS 9.1 release date rumored for 2015, we want to take a look at the most important things iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users need to know about the iOS 9.1 update and its release date. Keep these things in mind as we push deeper into the year.
