Which Jailbreak Tweaks Work with iOS 9?

An iOS 9 jailbreak was officially released, which means users who have an iPhone 6s can now jailbreak the device, as well as any other devices running iOS 9. However, you may wondering which jailbreak tweaks work with iOS 9.

When a new jailbreak releases, the community goes crazy and it’s a great time to be alive. However, it’s not all fun and games, as many jailbreak tweaks that worked on an older jailbreak may not work on the newer jailbreak. iOS 9 is no exception.

If you want to jailbreak your iPhone or iPad on iOS 9, that’s great and you should go for it if you want to, but it’s important to know that many tweaks that you might have installed won’t work with iOS 9 right away, as developers need some time to update their tweaks to work with the newer version of iOS.

But which jailbreak tweaks work with iOS 9 exactly? Surely most of the popular tweaks have been updated for iOS 9? Not entirely.

When a new jailbreak releases, the changes in the code between major new iOS versions is enough to deem some jailbreak tweaks incompatible on the newer version, and many developers usually have to take some time to update their tweaks in order to get them working on newer iOS versions.

Jailbreak Tweaks That Work with iOS 9

Perhaps one of the biggest downsides to a new jailbreak releasing is that there can be a handful of jailbreak tweaks that aren’t compatible yet, including popular tweaks that are vital to most users’ setups.

The good news is that there are a handful of jailbreak tweaks that work with iOS 9 right out of the box, and while the developers of the tweaks will likely still update them to officially support iOS 9, these tweaks still work on the newer version, with maybe a couple of small things missing perhaps.

There’s a Google Doc that is being updated to list which jailbreak tweaks with iOS 9 right now, and there are a lot that are working for users.

Tweaks like Alkaline, CyDelete8, FlipControlCenter, InfiniDock, Phantom, SwipeSelection, TetherMe, and TinyBar all work with iOS 9. You can see a full list in the linked Google Doc above.

Furthermore, there are some tweaks that already have beta versions available that work with iOS 9, so be sure to check to see if your favorite tweak has a beta version that you can download.

Jailbreak Tweaks That Don’t Work with iOS 9 Yet

Perhaps just as important as the jailbreak tweak that do work with iOS 9 are the jailbreak tweaks that don’t yet work with iOS 9, and the list is fairly extensive.

There are a small handful of tweaks that partially work with iOS 9, including Activator, WinterBoard, CCSettings, and more. Many of them need a utility called PreferenceLoader in order to change settings for the tweak, which hasn’t been updated for iOS 9 quite yet.

As for tweaks that don’t work at all with iOS 9, this is where it starts to get a little grim for those users wanting to jailbreak their devices on iOS 9.

Tweaks like Apex 2, AppSync, Convergance, Cydget, F.lux, Flex, Multiplexer, PhotosLive, and my personal favorite Springtomize 3 do not work at all with iOS 9, so you’ll have to wait patiently while these receive updates at some point in the near future.

However, we can probably expect to see beta versions of some of these tweaks release soon, coming with support for iOS 9, but it’s anyone’s guess as to when full iOS 9 versions of these tweaks will be ready to go.

It might be a good idea to keep an eye on PreferenceLoader, though, as once that updates with iOS 9 support, many jailbreak tweaks that didn’t work before will suddenly be compatible with iOS 9.
