5 Things to Do Before the iOS 9.1 Release Date

We don’t have an official iOS 9.1 release date but that doesn’t mean you should be sitting on your hands waiting for the operating system’s first milestone upgrade. No, there are a few things that iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users should do before the iOS 9.1 release arrives.

Last month, Apple released four iOS 9 updates. It released iOS 9.0, the update that Apple promised on stage during its iPhone 6s launch event in September. It released iOS 9.0.1, a small bug fix updated that tackled some annoying iOS 9 problems. It released iOS 9.0.2, another update aimed at squashing bugs. And it released iOS 9.1. Sort of.

On September 11th, Apple released the first iOS 9.1 beta update for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Thanks to the beta and its status as an x.1 milestone upgrade, we know that the iOS 9.1 update is going to be much larger than iOS 9.0.1 and iOS 9.0.2. And that has people excited.

Thing is, we still don’t have an iOS 9.1 release date and there’s a chance Apple will fail to release one ahead of time.

Apple typically confirms release dates on stage during launch events. And with no October media event planned, the iOS 9.1 update could emerge out of thin air. We’ve seen it happen many times before and we’ll see it happen again.
