Galaxy S7 Concept Video Brings Rumors to Life

Published

on

In recent weeks we’ve started to see more and more reports, leaks and rumors about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7. With some even suggesting a late February release date. This week though, a fan-made concept video was released that brings multiple rumors to life in what looks like an official Samsung promotional video, but isn’t.

Samsung’s popular Galaxy S6 wasn’t released until April, and was a major change for the company who completely redesigned its smartphone with a premium all glass and aluminum design. The changes caused some problems though, like the lack of a micro-SD slot, but we’re hearing that and more will be returning with the Galaxy S7 in early 2016.

The video below was made by a fan, not anyone from Samsung, and essentially combines some of the latest rumors, the Galaxy S6, and recent leaks all into one well-made product video of the Galaxy S7. It could be somewhat accurate, or way off, but there’s no way to know until actual leaks start to emerge. For now, this neat video gives us a good idea of what could be coming, and brings the latest Galaxy S7 rumors to life.

Over the course of the past two months we’ve heard a lot about the Samsung Galaxy S7. First rumors surfaced back in September, but it wasn’t until the month of December that things started to heat up. Reports from Korea suggest a bigger Galaxy S7 Plus is coming, those comments were somewhat “confirmed” by the famous leakster @evleaks on Twitter, and that’s only the beginning.

The video above shows the Galaxy S7, then a similar Galaxy S7 Plus with a bigger screen and slimmer bezels to allow for a larger display. Something that we’ve heard time and time again in recent rumors. It looks like Samsung could launch a 5.1-inch Galaxy S7, similar to the Galaxy S6, then a Galaxy S7 Plus with what rumors claim is a 6-inch display.

This leakster suggests Samsung will have an array of different colors for the new flagship smartphone, and goes into some detail regarding the 8-core processor and a new front and rear camera, but that’s about it. Nothing regarding software, internals or anything else, as we don’t have any concrete details on that just yet.

However, reports also suggest there will also be a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and a Galaxy S7 Edge Plus as well. Returning its curved flagship smartphone for another year, with the bigger model arriving earlier in the year, rather than later with the Galaxy Note 6.

Last week another Galaxy S7 video was released, from the popular leakster @Onleaks, who gets his information from case manufacturers. His video shows a rather similar device, but with a slight change to the home button. In that video the home button is more squared and rectangle, which is odd, but that’s about it. Those leaks come from blueprints of the actual device, sent right to case manufacturers. At least according to those reports.

For now there’s no telling what’s actually coming from Samsung with the Galaxy S7, but we are hearing it will look rather similar, but have a few small changes. Things like a more rounded design, improved software throughout, and focus on the display and camera rather than an entire redesign. Here’s a list of potential specs based on loose rumors.

Galaxy S7 Specs (Rumored)

  • 5.1-inch Quad HD 2560 x 1440 Display (6-inch Galaxy S7 Plus)
  • 8-core Snapdragon 820 / Samsung Exynos 8890 with 4GB of RAM
  • 32/64/128 GB storage options with a micro-SD slot (maybe)
  • Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with a refined TouchWiz
  • Pressure Sensitive Display like iPhone 6s 3D Touch
  • 16 / 20 Megapixel rear BRITECELL Camera with OIS and more
  • 8 / 12 Megapixel front camera
  • Fingerprint scanner
  • Fast Wireless Charging, Samsung Pay, and others like the Galaxy S6
  • USB Type-C port for charging (rumors are back and forth)
  • Bottom Speaker again
  • more

Of course these are nothing but random details based on rumors, but some from reliable sources like the Korean Times, or the Wall Street Journal, not to mention the leaksters mentioned above.

If that’s all remotely accurate, and 3rd party accessory makers are already getting finalized information about the phone, it could mean the rumors of a very late February announcement and March release date could be true. At this point it’s hard to suggest anything is accurate, but as 2016 approaches and a potential release date nears more and more information will begin to surface. Samsung could have four impressive new phones come this March for buyers. We’ll have to wait and see.
