Game Modes & Graphics

Even with the addition of the Battle of Jakku and EA's latest update, this isn't the deepest game I've ever played. That said, the game modes that DICE created have been compelling enough to keep me around to continue ranking up my character.

Supremacy and Walker Assault are great when you want to feel like you're really on Hoth or Endor battling the Empire or the Rebels. The levels look fantastic and they capture the atmosphere well. They also give you the freedom to play however you want.

Some maps I've run directly into danger taking out foes and capturing points. Others I've spent perched near objectives picking off enemies. You can also sneak around, particularly on Endor. The game caters to a lot of play styles.

If you get sick of those, Fighter Squadron is an excellent alternative. Flying around in a Tie-Fighter or X-Wing with several friends at your side is as fun as it sounds. I keep coming back to this game mode over and over again.

And if you want to use the main Star Wars heroes and villians without having to find the power up, you can do that too in the Heroes vs. Villians mode.

It's a six on six mode that puts six people in the shoes of Heroes (Solo, Skywalker, Leia) and Villians (Vader, Palpatine, Boba Fett) and the other six into the shoes of regular characters or honor guard. The goal is to take down all three heroes/villians. It's an excellent alternative to some of the larger game modes.

There's something for everyone and best of all, it looks absolutely stunning, even on console.
