Install for Widgets on the Home Screen

Apple's brought Widgets to your iPad's home screen giving you an easier way to get information at a glance.

Widgets work a little bit differently on iPadOS 14. On the iPhone, you can pin widgets on any home screen page and adjust the size. On iPadOS 14, they are unfortunately limited to the Today View sidebar that pops up when you put a device into landscape mode. They vanish when the iPad is put into portrait mode.

It's a weird limitation, but other than that, widgets work more or less the same as they do on iOS 14.

Apple's introduced a new feature called Smart Stack which serves as a permanent, and customizable, widget on your home screen.

You can pick which ones it displays or you can have it automatically suggest widgets to show depending on the time of day.

If having widgets on your home screen sounds interesting, you should give the iPadOS 14 beta a try.
