Consumers in the hunt for a new Android smartphone in particular are going to encounter a number of big time options. And while the decision will come easy for some people, others are going to struggle weeding through them all. In an effort to help those that may not be armed with the latest information, we take a look at the devices we think are the five best Android smartphones for the month of July, 2014.

As we push deeper into the year, we’re starting to see the Android smartphone marketplace fill out and offer a number of attractive Android smartphone options to consumers in all price brackets. Early in the year, it was the Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8 that made a lot of noise. More recently, it has been devices like the Moto G, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active and Galaxy S5 mini, and the LG G3. There is no shortage of big names or big time devices.

Having that kind of choice is great for consumers but the Android smartphone market can be extremely difficult to navigate for those that don’t follow the smartphone industry. And, as we’ve pointed out, it can even be troublesome for those that do have their finger on the pulse of the smartphone world. It’s no easy task.

Our list may differ from yours but these are the devices that Gotta Be Mobile editors have selected for recognition this month. We feel like the devices listed here deliver the best, all-around package at the moment.

Rumors indicate that we could see a premium metal Samsung Galaxy S5 arrive later this year but until that day arrives, the current Galaxy S5 will be one of our favorite smartphones.

We've spent a considerable amount of time with the Galaxy S5 and consider it one of the best Android smartphones on the market. With an improved camera, design that is water and dust resistant, beautiful display, and upgraded software, the Galaxy S5 is a device that should be on every smartphone shoppers list.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 should get two solid years of software support which means that it's a device that it's worth investing in. Oh and it helps that it's getting cheaper with prices bound to dip further when the LG G3 comes out.

I will take LG G2 any day over galaxy S5 simply because better battery life, smaller size yet bigger screen, cheaper price and less clumsy UI. Perhaps it just boils down to how susceptible you are to the marketing hypes, as I was myself one of those victims earlier. Unsurprisingly, Samsung was charged for hiring two Chinese firms to write positive reviews on their phones and write negative reviews on rivals, including HTCs (fake reviews indeed). Samsung is the most hyped phones, I think, and customer get less out of his/her investment simply because Samsung has to cover for the charge of advertising cost, simple arithmetic. Instead, HTC and LG have better android products for the amount you pay. My thoughts, compare all of them before committing, and you don’t have to regret.
