Better Security

The iPhone 5 doesn't come with Touch ID built into its home button. That's an added layer of security that iPhone 5 users don't get. And that's why we're genuinely excited about some of the security features coming with iOS 9. They will help to better protect the phone.

There are two main components that we're excited about. First, support for a six digit passcode. This will make your iPhone 5's passcode a lot harder to figure out. Right now, iOS only supports up to four numbers for a passcode.

The other feature is better support for two-factor authentication. Now, when you "sign in from a new browser or on a new device, you’ll be prompted for a verification code." This code is sent to your phone or other Apple devices to ensure that you're the person trying to login.

You shouls correct the portion about Metal, Mr Mills. Metal optimization is only for 64 bit devices (5s, 6, 6 plus, A7 and A8X ipads)

The older 32 bit devices don’t support metal. Iphone 5 is a 32 bit device running on an older A6 chip, which does not support metal.

IOS already allows for a pass code more than 4 digits. You have to turn off ‘simple passcode’ under pass code settings. It will then allow any complex alpha numeric or plain long numeric pass codes
