5 iPhone 6 Accessories That Can’t Arrive Fast Enough

Published

on

The iPhone 6 has been out for several weeks now, and while there are many buyers who still have yet to receive their units, there are millions of users who are already enjoying their iPhone 6 devices.

There are plenty of accessories already available for the iPhone 6, including cases from OtterBoxJoby’s GripTight XL for the larger iPhone 6 Plus, and even bike mounts from Biologic. However, there are still a handful of popular accessories that we have yet to see for the iPhone 6.

There were plenty of accessories for the iPhone 5s that we loved, and now we’re just waiting for those same accessories to make their way to the iPhone 6.

Of course, it takes time for accessory makers to make products for brand new devices, so we certainly don’t blame them for taking a couple of months in order to perfect their iPhone 6 accessories before releasing them, but at the same time, popular accessories like the Olloclip lens kit and quality waterproof cases can never come soon enough.

Here are a few popular accessories that have made it big with past iPhone models, but have yet to see the same accessories updated for the newer iPhone 6.

Olloclip Lens Kit

We’ve talked a lot about Olloclip in the past and that’s because they make great lens kits for the iPhone, which enhance your photos to make them look like way more professional and creative. The Olloclip lens kit for the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5 have been immensely popular over the last couple of years, but an iPhone 6 version has yet to release.

Never fear, though, as the company is planning to release a lens kit for the iPhone 6 soon, as noted on their website. However, we just don’t know when we’ll see it exactly. Olloclip has used CES in January to release new lens kits in past years, but hopefully they don’t wait that long.

Loop Attachment StraitJacket Case

Loop Attachment is sort of the unsung hero in the iPhone case market, as they make excellent iPhone wallet cases. It started with the Mummy case for the iPhone 4s and iPhone 4, and then moved to the StraitJacket for the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s.

The company is planning to make an updated StraitJacket for the iPhone 6, with the same bands on the back that allow you to stuff in credit cards or cash to take with you on the go.

While Loop Attachment doesn’t have a solid timeline for the release of their iPhone 6 case, they quoted me 6-8 weeks when I pre-ordered it soon after the iPhone 6 launched last month.

LifeProof Cases

LifeProof has been one of the top dogs when it comes to waterproof and drop-proof iPhone cases. However, we have yet to see a LifeProof iPhone 6 case release.

Lifeproof

The good news is, the company is planning to release some waterproof cases for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The bad news is, they don’t say when we should expect these cases to release to the public.

In any case (pun intended), LifeProof will release two versions of their cases for the 4.7-inch iPhone 6, called the frē and nüüd cases. The iPhone 6 Plus will only get the nüüd case for the time being.

Better Screen Protectors

While cases and lens kits are important accessories to have, perhaps the most important of all are screen protectors.

There are already plenty of screen protectors available for the iPhone 6, but there are very few screen protectors that are true to the iPhone 6’s screen. Many of the screen protectors available were released before the iPhone 6 was launched, so the cutouts aren’t precise and they don’t contour to the curved edges of the display.

With that said, we’re waiting patiently for screen protectors with the precise cutouts for the home button and earpiece that can also cover the entire screen, even over the curved edges.

Gaming Controllers

While there are a few Bluetooth gaming controllers for iPhone, there are also some that also act as holders for the device, including Logitech’s own PowerShell controller.

iPhone gaming controllers haven’t seemed to gain a lot of popularity, but for those few mobile gamers who enjoy having access to physical buttons, an iPhone 6 version of the PowerShell would be pretty cool.

Otherwise, you can rely on standalone Bluetooth controllers if you don’t mind having to find a place to prop up the iPhone to play games.
