5 Tips for Mortal Kombat X for iPhone Players
For as long as anyone can remember, fighting games have been the exclusive dominion of living room video game consoles. Mortal Kombat was a part of the fighting game craze that gripped the entire video game landscape in the early 1990s. Within the last year we’ve seen a few developers try to bring the quick battle experience to the handheld consoles. Mortal Kombat X for iPhone is latest in a group of fighter franchises translated to a mobile phone.

Surprisingly, the translation isn’t all bad. Users don’t have physical controls at their disposal, but a lot of what makes the Mortal Kombat series of games so much fun to play on a console is available in Mortal Kombat X for iPhone. Mortal Kombat X for iPhone isn’t necessarily a game that casual title lovers should rush to get their hands on. That being said, Mortal Kombat X for iPhone is perfect for any fan of fighting games looking to get their fix on the go. Here are some tips for Mortal Kombat X for iPhone. These tips will also apply to the version of the gaming for Amazon coming sometime soon, according to Warner Brothers.
Know Your Taps & Swipes
Early on it was unclear how Mortal Kombat X for iPhone was going to adapt its somewhat complicated controls for devices with just a touchscreen. Traditionally, Mortal Kombat has focused on four action buttons. Using those buttons in different combinations helped you deliver more punishing blows and win your matches.
Mortal Kombat X for iPhone can’t count on players having a controller. Instead, the game relies on a series of swipes and taps. Holding two of your fingers on the screen puts your character into a blocking position to avoid damage from an attacker. Swiping towards an opposing character allows you to attack. Attack successfully enough times and you’ll be able to swipe down for a quick kick helping you deal more damage. Everything you’ll do in Mortal Kombat X for iPhone is based on these moves. How they’re carried out depends on your specific character. As with all fighting games, accuracy and timing are both key.
Fatalities are Here Too
Just because you’re playing Mortal Kombat X for iPhone doesn’t mean you aren’t entitled to the same gruesome fatalities as other players. Many of the X-Ray and Fatality moves from the Xbox One and PS4 versions of Mortal Kombat X are included in this game and they aren’t toned down.
Save Your Currency
Every major video game release on a smartphone or tablet these days includes in-app payments. They’re an easy way for video game makers to continue to monetize a game, even after you’ve purchased it. Unsurprisingly, Mortal Kombat X is no exception.
Downloading the game from the iTunes Store is absolutely free, but there are in-game upgrades. In-game currency allows players to purchase Kombat Packs, which are essentially collectible cards with specific upgrades for your team. The gold to purchase these packs are earnable in the game, but you can also use your real money on them. Packs of Koins range from just $1.99 for a pack of 12 coins to 600,000 Koins for $49.99. Also available with Koins are new characters to add to your roster.
Definitely Sign Up for a WBPlay Account
Cloud syncing is just one of the exciting companion features for Mortal Kombat X on the iPhone. Also included are special power-ups that travel between the mobile version of the game and Mortal Kombat X for iPhone and Android.
The only way to get either of these things is to sign up for what Warner Brothers is calling a WBPlay account. WBPlay accounts sync your progress between multiple devices. Injustice Scorpion and Klassic Kitana are amount the extras only obtainable through WB Play.
Team Battles
Sometimes in Mortal Kombat X you’ll get tunnel vision. You’re so laser-focused on defeating your immediate opponent with the character you have that you forget the game is a team battle.
Being a part of a team means you can continue to fight on your own or you can switch out characters quickly at your leisure. If you’re monitoring character health along the way you can substitute characters the moment you feel you’re in danger of dying. Teams can be customized from the Menu area and you can edit your team line-up before you go into your next battle. Make sure you’re tracking how much energy your specific teams have left.
If you’re losing, call in ally to assist you. You can fight other people online in Faction Wars.
Keep these tips in mind when you’re playing Mortal Kombat X for iPhone and Android. They’ll help you survive the game’s battles, no matter how brutal a beat down you receive the first time.

You have to have a gold character and reach level 20 in order to do a fatality

Actually, those are X-Rays. In order to perform a fatality, you must go to battle mode and get to a boss tower, on the final battle of that boss tower, you will perform one of the fatalities on the boss you have defeated.

Sorry, that’s for the x-Rays! You can only do a fatality when you get to one of the main towers (the ones where you get a special character that if he gets knocked out, you lose), and after you defeat the final boss, the special character will do its fatality.

Sorry, that’s for the x-Rays! you’ll solely do a fatality once you get to at least one of the most towers (the ones wherever you get a special character that if he gets knocked out, you lose), and when you defeat the ultimate boss, the special character can do its fatality. I have a big problem on my iphone regarding this game. Since last couple of months i had no issue but since few days ago, when i open the game, instead of being opened, again it comes back to my main iPhone screen. My iOS and the app are both updated.

what sucks is i have been play for over 140 day. There is no special cards in test your luck pick a card. Come on. Reward those who support the game and have played days on end. The graphics are good, but come on. Not one reward for 50 days, or 75 days, or 100 straight days of logging in. WHY? Are you guys that cheap you cant reward your return day after day after day players. You cant tell me your not making enough off oe little bobby that purchased upgrade and card pack off his mom and dads account,
