7 Things the Galaxy S7 Can Do That the iPhone 6s Can’t

Published

on

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is an impressive new smartphone that can do many things the iPhone 6s cannot. Samsung and Apple continue to fight to be the next phone you buy and Samsung’s latest salvo addresses weaknesses from the Galaxy S6 and delivers features you will not find on the iPhone 6s.

While you may see some of these new Galaxy S7 features arrive on the iPhone 7, at this stage there are still several tasks that Samsung does better than Apple.

Even though the iPhone 6s is ready to get a new Night Mode feature with iOS 9.3 and will likely see a collection of important new features with iOS 10 this fall, there are some areas where the Samsung Galaxy S7 stands out.

It helps that Samsung listened to customers, bringing back several features that were missing from the Galaxy S6. There is still no removable battery in the Galaxy S7, but that is not something that the iPhone offers either.

Although the Samsung Galaxy S7 is more expensive on some carriers than the iPhone 6s is, you do get features that you cannot find on the iPhone 6s. You can add some features to the iPhone 6s with paid apps or with cases, but out of the box there are several clear advantages to the Samsung Galaxy S7.

Here are seven things the Samsung Galaxy S7 can do that the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus can’t.

Waterproof Design

Waterproof Design

The Samsung Galaxy S7 can survive under water for roughly 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes. You won't want to take this phone swimming with you, but if you do take it to the pool or into the shower you won't have to worry about the phone breaking.

Apple delivered a more resilient iPhone 6s design this year with a gasket that helps protect the phone from damage when exposed to water, but Apple does not advertise this feature.

You cannot use the Galaxy S7 underwater since the screen is going to interact with the water, but it should survive most encounters with water thanks to the IP68 Rating.
