Mophie iPhone 5 Battery Case Arrives for $79
The Mophie iPhone 5 battery case is available today, as the Mophie Juice Pack Helium for $79.99.
Mophie is one of the best known names in iPhone battery cases, and one of the first iPhone 5 battery cases to make it to market. We expect several other iPhone 5 battery cases to arrive by the middle of the month, but this is one of the first iPhone 5 battery cases shoppers can buy.
The Mophie Juice Pack Helium is thinner and lighter than previous Mophie iPhone battery cases, and still includes a 1500 mAh battery which the company claims will deliver 80% more battery life than just the iPhone 5.

Shoppers can order the Mophie iPhone 5 battery case starting today, though the official launch isn’t until Wednesday. The Mophie Juice Pack Helium for the iPhone 5 comes in Dark Metallic (black) and Silver. The Dark Metallic model ships by February 14th, and the silver model in March.
The Mophie iPhone 5 battery case connects to the lightning port on the iPhone 5 to charge the phone, and users can then use a common MicroUSB charger to charge both the iPhone 5 and the battery case. Users can sync the iPhone 5 to a computer using a Micro USB Cable so there are few cases where they need to remove it. The back of the case includes a button to turn the battery on and off and LED lights to show the battery life left.

The Mophie Juice Pack Helium includes cutouts for the volume buttons and directs audio forward through “forward-ported” channels that send audio at the user instead of to the side.
There is a moderately large headphone jack opening on the bottom of the case, but as we saw during our quick look at the Mophie iPhone 5 battery case, it may not fit all headphone cords. To remedy this, Mophie includes a headphone pass through cable with the case, to fit larger headphone jacks.
The Mophie iPhone 5 battery case is available direct from Mophie for $79.99 and will likely land on Amazon and at retailers like Best Buy in the coming weeks.
