Disappointing Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Release Date News

Published

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 release date bucks the standard of a Tuesday arrival, and we’ve learned that the game will also go against a long-standing Call of Duty release date trend as well.

The Black Ops 3 release date weekend is going to be part of a big event that allows players to get in more time right after the release, but there will not be a Double XP weekend.

We typically see a Double XP weekend when the new Call of Duty game arrives on consoles and PC, but David Vonderhaar, Studio Design Director at Treyarch, confirmed that this will not happen.

There is no Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 release date Double XP weekend.

There is still a chance that there will be Black Ops 3 Double XP weekends, but this is not happening on the days after the release date.

One reason that gamers enjoy the Double XP weekends while playing Call of Duty is that the multiplayer system unlocks new weapons and perks as you level up. You earn XP in the game as you complete objectives and rack up kills. The better you are, the faster you level up and gain access to better guns, gun upgrades, perks and other weapons.

For casual players a Black Ops 3 Double XP weekend is an easy time to level up and unlock a bunch of weapons that would normally take many more matches to unlock.

One of the possible reasons that there is no special weekend during Black Ops 3 release date is that many players will be racing to Prestige in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, and Double XP may make that happen faster than Treyarch would like.

Gamers can still earn Double XP for Black Ops 3 Zombies mode through purchases of Mountain Dew and Doritos.
