Are SSDs A Bigger Security Risk?
Interesting article in ComputerWorld about the increased security risks of Solid-state drives (SSDs). According to some experts they aren’t as secure as their spinning cousins. The jist is that they have no phyiscal security hooks making them relatively easy for a hacker to remove them, and then read the data using a flash chip programmer. Apparently the data can also be read using an ultraviolet laser to wipe out encryption locks and then accessing the data.
