Amazon Delivers Stunning Xbox One Savings

Another Xbox One price cut means big savings and this time more than just a few games are included. Amazon’s new bundle  includes things potential buyers might expect, like a free game, and at least two surprise items they wouldn’t.

Starting today, anyone and everyone can pick up the new Amazon Xbox One Value Bundle. Make no mistake, what Amazon shoppers are getting isn’t an Xbox One price cut in the strictest sense, but the savings is so good it’s hard to imagine it at as anything else other than a price cut. $350 gets potential Xbox One buyers the Xbox One console itself, three games and two wireless controllers.

The three games included in the line-up are Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Assassin’s Creed Unity and Wolfenstein: The New Order. Assassin’s Creed Unity and Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag being included in this new Xbox One Amazon bundle hint at the bundle’s fundamentals: it appears shoppers who order the bundle are getting the extra controller and Wolfenstein on top of the Xbox One Assassin’s Creed Unity bundle that Microsoft began selling last fall.

Boxed copies Wolfenstein: the New Order currently sell on amazon for $39.98 with completely free shipping. Amazon currently has the black Xbox One Wireless Controller on sale for $45.99. That’s the same controller Amazon is giving to buyers of this Xbox One bundle at no additional charge.

Normally, the Xbox One costs $399, but Microsoft rolled out a temporary price cut to bring the console down to $350 back in January. This January Xbox One price cut meant that the Xbox One was $50 less than Sony’s PS4 gaming console. Microsoft cut the price of the Xbox One by $50 during the holiday season too. Microsoft’s original Xbox One bundle that includes the Kinect 2 sensor isn’t included in this Amazon Xbox One bundle for some reason. It’s still priced at $479 and includes only the Xbox One itself and the two Assassin’s Creed games with a single wireless controller.

Every Xbox One includes many of the essentials users need to get going with the console right away. A somewhat large power cable connects the Xbox One to any standard wall outlet. A chat headset lets Xbox Live users communicate with their friends both inside and outside of their games. A single HDMI is included so that users can connect the Xbox One directly to their television set. Users who’d like to use the Xbox One’s television features will need to use the HDMI cable that’s already running from their set-top box to connect the two devices together.

Since this Xbox One bundle doesn’t include a Kinect 2 sensor users looking to take advantage of those television features might want to invest in an Infrared receiver too. The Xbox One’s infrared receiver is actually a part of the Kinect 2 sensor. Microsoft makes a Kinect 2 sensor bundle for an additional $150. That bundle includes the sensor and a copy of Dance Central Spotlight.

Amazon says that shoppers who take advantage of this Xbox One bundle are getting a physical copy of Wolfenstein: The New Order. This means that buyers who aren’t a fan of this game can give it away or trade it to places like GameStop for credit towards games they’d like to play instead. Like the Assassin’s Creed Unity Xbox One bundle, the copies of Unity and Black Flag are digital. As such, users won’t be able to trade those in for credit. That being said, there are just as easy to give away since they’re a code that Xbox Live owners simply enter on their console or online.

Amazon is offering completely free shipping on this new Xbox One value Bundle. When the Xbox One Value bundle will disappear is anyone’s guess; Amazon’s site doesn’t indicate when the Value Bundle will stop being sold.
