To help kick off the official Android 5.0 Lollipop update release date, yesterday Google debuted four brand new commercials or TV ad spots featuring Android’s new “Be Together, Not the Same” ad campaign. The latest commercial has been making the rounds on TV and cable for weeks, and these four new clips below could be next.
Yesterday Google finally released Android 5.0 Lollipop for almost all recent Nexus devices after nearly a month of waiting since it was announced on October 15th, and users are patiently waiting for the updates to start arriving. And while the factory images are available for those more tech savvy, while the rest wait enjoy the new Android commercials from Google.

Last month Google released a few ads with a similar style, using the Android cartoon figure and some neat animations to showcase Android’s openness, and now they’re back with four more. The recent ads have been pretty catchy, so check the new ones out below and decide for yourself.
The official Android YouTube channel debuted four new videos, and they’re all about 45 seconds. There’s nothing too crazy going on, we didn’t spot a new Nexus or Android 5.1 Marsh-mellow in any of them, but they’re still fun to watch.
And while these new Android commercials are mainly just for fun, they do showcase some of Google’s recent releases. One shows off Android Wear and smartwatches, another is all about the Nexus 9, then we have one dedicated to cameras as well. Here they are for those interested.
First up is the Android Wear smartwatch ad, likely aimed at those with the new Moto 360, LG G Watch R, or looking forward to new watches coming soon.
The second one, titled Scary Movie, showcases the big and beautiful screen on the new Nexus 9 tablet and its front facing speakers. Showing that Android tablets have big screens for big screams. Letting users enjoy movies with good video and sound wherever they are, even while taking a long flight. While you’re at it, share the movie with the entire isle.
Then below is the new Garage Band ad showing off the Nexus 6 and its new 13 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, or any Android smartphone for that matter. Android phones have been pushing the boundaries with higher resolution cameras, image stabilization, improved flash and low light photography and more. So here’s Google’s take on it.
Last but not least is a slightly longer version of the road trip commercial they debuted a few weeks ago, but it doesn’t really show much. It’s more so just a fun commercial showing a few people cramped in a tour bus or Winnebago taking a trip while using their Nexus smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches.
The best commercial though, is probably the “Android: And you” ad spot that’s been making the rounds on TV lately. Shown on many channels, during sporting events like Sunday Night Football or the World Series, and much more. Google’s not been one to advertise much in the past, but with a new Android OS and lineup of devices, now is the perfect time.
