Apple Already Testing iOS 7.1 Update Ahead of iOS 7 Release

The iOS 7 release date is still in the future, but it looks like Apple is widely testing the iOS 7.1 update and other smaller iOS 7.0.1 and iOS 7.0.2 updates.

The iOS 7 release date is September 18th, when a free update will change the looks of the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch for users upgrading from iOS 6.

According to a new report, Apple is widely testing multiple updates and bug fixes for the iOS 7 update. While Apple’s work on iOS 7 undoubtedly pre-dates WWDC 2013 in June, there are reports on Twitter that the iOS 7 GM is crashing more than one would expect on the iPhone and iPad.

Now it looks like Apple is preparing a collection of iOS 7 updates, which could roll out quickly after the iOS 7 release this month.

9to5Mac reports that Apple employees are testing iOS 7.1, iOS 7.0.1 and iOS 7.0.2 updates widely. The IOS 7.1, iOS 7.0.2 and iOS 7.0.1 updates are coming in from cities near Apple’s Cupertino headquarters.

These instances come from the site’s analytics tool. Gotta Be Mobile analytics reports several instances of iOS 7.1, iOS 7.0.1 and iOS 7.0.2, though not as widespread as the original report.

Apple is also testing an iOS 7.0.1 update and an iOS 7.0.2 update according to analytics tools.

Apple delivered the iOS 6.0.1 update at the start of November, about six weeks after the iOS 6 release last fall. This update brought a number of small bug fixes, which is what we can expect from an iOS 7.0.1 update.

Apple recently removed the iCloud Keychain feature from the iOS 7 update, which is one feature that Apple could add to the iOS 7.0.1 or iOS 7.0.2 update as a timed feature addition with the OS X Mavericks release date. Users need OS X Mavericks to sync the iCloud Keychain with a Mac.

The 9o5Mac report suggests the iOS 7.1 update could be timed with the iPad mini 2 and iPad 5 release later this fall. Rumors suggest Apple is quickly preparing an iPad update which could come in October.

If the iOS 7.1 release date is timed with new iPads it would be one of the fastest iOS x.1 updates to arrive. The iOS 5.1 and iOS 6.1 updates came months after the first update, in March and February of the following year, respectively.

An iOS 7.1 release date is a milestone iOS 7 jailbreakers are looking forward to, as general opinion is that a jailbreak team would wait for the first major iOS 7 update to arrive before releasing an iOS 7 jailbreak to the public.

This don’t surprise me!! But it’s a good thing apple is a foot ahead this time not like past years!! This is a good thing, I still think the finger sensor deal will be an issue like the maps in 2012 iPhone 5?? So maybe they are getting ready instead of delaying updates!!
