Apple iPhone 5S Cases Show Up with New iPhone

Apple announced a new iPhone 5S and a lower cost iPhone 5C. They also announced new iPhone 5S cases, something they chose to also do for the iPhone 5C.

Buyers can get the new iPhone 5S cases in one of six case colors for $39 including brown, beige, black, yellow, blue and red. They will not ship until the iPhone 5S ships on September 20.

Apple made these cases in leather material to make them look and feel more upscale compared to the cases offered for the iPhone 5C.

Apple describes the case saying …

iPhone 5s has a stunning exterior. So any case that dares to conceal it should be equally appealing. … Made from premium leather, they look and feel luxurious. And because they’re precision crafted for iPhone 5s, your phone still feels incredibly slim even with the case on.

Apple says the case will cover the volume buttons, on/off switch and the edges of the phone to protect them while still making it possible to press. The camera, mute switch and the bottom charging/syncing port and the headphone jack are all left open.

Inside the leather case comes a soft microfiber lining. They described the dye by saying it makes it way deep into the leather for a richer look.

The cases will also work on the older iPhone 5, giving those who can’t afford or don’t need a new phone something to get excited about with this launch.

The iPhone 5C cases cover the phone with a cheaper silicone material, but they clearly want to make buyers feel like this leather case for the iPhone 5S matches the higher quality materials in the new iPhone 5S.

The landing page at the Apple online store says they’re not available to ship for now, but customers can get in line at an Apple store on September 20 to pick the case up along with their new phone, if they buy one.
