Parrot’s AR Drone was a hit last night at CES Unveiled, a preview event that showcases a few dozen electronics and computer vendors. The AR Drone is a toy quadricpoter (a helicopter with four blades) that can be controlled with an iPhone or iPod touch. There are a pair of cameras mounted on the AR Drone that stream video back to your iPhone. You can view the video of course or you can use it to play augmented reality games. Parrot is inviting developers to build video games and other apps that can take advantage of its hardware. Visit Parrot for more info about the platform. I think this toy is going to be a hit.
