Interesting post on ReadWriteWeb about the future of mobile sensors being added to our moible devices. We’re talking sensors that can aid our GPS chores by detecting location and movement, or barometric sensors that can detect, well, barometric pressure, and personal health sensors. It sounds a bit like science fiction on some levels, but I don’t think it is that far off. The Dash GPS already uses the Internet to feed data from other Dash users to update GPS data on traffic. In the post Bob Iannuci from Nokia talks about weather sensors that by collecting and collating data points from thousands of users could have lead to big changes in weather prediction.
Fascinating stuff, and of course it is talked about here mostly with mobile phones. So what do you think? Are you ready for mobile sensors?
