ARM To Enter Netbook Chip Market

Published

on

Maybe with the economy going as far south as it seems like it is heading, it makes sense for everyone and their mother to grab a piece of the Netbook pie. Consumers seem to be looking for bargains, spending less cash, and you can’t argue with that current trend.

Yesterday we were supposed to hear something from AMD about their possible entry into the Netbook market that Intel has current dominance over. Now comes word that ARM, the chip maker for any number of smartphones or PDAs, is going to begin making ARMv7 chips for Netbooks and MIDs as well. Competition is a good thing here, I’m guessing.
