Asus Eee Pad Shown at Computex

The Asus Eee Pad has great expectations behind it. At Computex, we’re starting to see info and hands on reports about the slates from the folks who started the Netbook craze. Asus is showing off two models. The 12-inch EP121 features Intel’s Core 2 Duo CULV processors, is running Windows 7, and supposedly meets the 10 hour battery life expectation. The EP121 is hybrid like, with a keyboard dock that it can snap in and out of.

The 10-inch EP101TC is running Windows Embedded Compact 7. Joanna Stern of Engadget has some video of the EP101TC prototype. Both devices are prototypes and scheduled for a 2011 release.

Glossy screen = Fail in the States.
And to have Windows 7 and not have pen support? sigh.

    All I Want is:

    A light
All day battery ( 10-12 hours)
    Touch and pen
great note taking app (One note)

really that’s it. this thing is perfect just give it some Wacom Touch & Pen add 200 bucks and I’ll swipe the Visa. Well, lose the glossy screen first then we’re talking!

very interesting, ill be pretty amazed if they have pulled off 10hrs battery life with c2d and embedded. I wonder however if part of that 10hrs isnt counted by being docked. In any case its a win for me if they have and a win for me if they havent – as it would just confirm my thoughts that MobileOS+ARM is the way to go.
