I woke up to a flurry of emails this morning, 90% of which were notifications from Facebook about changes Asus was making to their Facebook Fan page. It is actually pretty funny to see all the name changes they went through trying to figure out how best to market / position themselves on Facebook – all in a matter of 12 minutes. I can picture several marketing people battling it out: “We are best known for our Eee PC and need to take advantage of that”, “No, the Eee PC is just one facet of what we bring to market – We are Asus by golly and we are not going to be defined by the Eee PC”, “I’m really struggling with the whole ‘official group’ thing and am not sure I like the word ‘official’.”
