HTC”s flagship Windows Phone 8 device, the Windows Phone 8X will definitely come to AT&T in November of this year.
According to CNet, AT&T confirmed the phone will come to its network earlier today in the same press release that confirmed the HTC One X+ for AT&T. The Windows Phone 8X will likely join the Nokia Lumia 920 and possibly the Samsung ATIV S on AT&T’s network when Windows Phone 8 comes to market in November of this year.
The Windows Phone 8X is the high-end “signature” Windows Phone 8 device. We don’t know what the term “signature” means, except that Microsoft gave HTC its blessing on the phone and named it. We don’t know how much influence Microsoft had on the design of the Windows Phone 8X, but we know it will market the phone heavily.
HTC’s Windows Phone 8X features a 4.3-inch Super LCD 2 display with a 720p resolution and an 8MP rear-facing camera.
The camera on the 8X uses an ImageChip like the HTC One Series which should result in high quality photos. We don’t know if the camera on the 8X will match the camera on the Lumia 920, but it might produce images that are about as good.
Like most recent HTC smartphones the Windows Phone 8X feature Beats audio for better sound.
Unfortunately we don’t know how much AT&T will charge for the Windows Phone 8X by HTC, or the exact date when it will start selling the phone. For those facts we’ll have to wait for the official announcement from Microsoft and HTC. Last we heard Microsoft was still rushing to complete Windows Phone 8, which it could launch on October 29.
