AT&T: Nokia Lumia 2520 Tablet for $199, Plus Free Windows Phone

Buyers of the  Nokia Lumia 2520, Nokia’s first ever tablet running Windows RT, won’t just get the device itself for $199.99. AT&T is also pairing the tablet with a user’s choice of a Nokia Lumia smartphone.

AT&T announced availability and pricing for the tablet in a press release this morning. On November 22nd users can pick up the Lumia 2520 for $399 with a two-year service agreement by itself. However, those who want even lowering pricing can pick up the tablet along with either a Nokia Lumia 925, Nokia Lumia 1020, or a Nokia Lumia 1520 for just $199. Of course, this pricing also includes a two-year service agreement.

Users can pre-order the Nokia Lumia 1520 ahead of its November 22nd for $199 separately. The Lumia 925 is already available for $99. The Lumia 1020, Nokia’s first Windows Phone with a 41-megapixel camera, is already available for $199. All of these prices also include a two-year service agreement.

Nokia announced the Lumia 2520 at an event in Abu Dhabi earlier this year. Nokia’s first tablet features a 10.1-inch high-definition display, 2.2GHz quad-core SnapDragon 800 processor and built-in LTE connectivity. Unlike other tablets, Nokia seems to be embracing the throngs of users who take pictures with their tablet instead of their smartphone. The Lumia 2520 includes a 6.7 megapixel rear-facing camera for picture-taking. Nokia has also included a 2 megapixel front-facing camera for video chatting and taking self-portraits. The tablet also includes 32GB of on-board storage with the option to add more through an internal micro-SD card slot.

AT&T’s version of the Lumia 2520 will only come in black, however AT&T is making up for that loss in variety by including a $20 Windows Store app voucher for users who purchase between November 22nd and January 9th.

As the Lumia 2520 ships with Windows RT, users can expect a free version of Outlook with the tablet, however they won’t be able to install applications from anywhere but the Windows Store.

If the November 22nd launch date sounds familiar, it’s because that’s the same day that AT&T is scheduled to launch the Lumia 1520 phablet. While the Lumia 2520 will also make its way to Verizon, the Lumia 1520 is an AT&T exclusive that includes the same 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, a 6-inch high-definition display and a 20 megapixel rear-facing camera that has been enhanced with Nokia’s PureView imaging technology.

Microsoft’s Xbox One also launches on November 22nd.

Hi, I think the title of this article is so misleading…the tablet would cost 399$ with a contract, and is 199$ with 2 contracts if u buy a windows phone with it. So I see it as an either/or…but not an addition…meaning if u buy the tablet with the windows phone it will still cost u at least 399$ min. Or up to 499$ for the high end phones. But the phones are NOT FREE
