Starting on Thanksgiving and continuing through Black Friday, Best Buy will offer a wide range of Black Friday deals from iPhones, iPads and gaming systems to HDTVs, accessories and appliances.
We’ll focus on the Best Buy Black Friday 2014 deals you can expect in gadgets and electronics, but also touch on where you can look for more information about the other items Best Buy sells.
Best Buy Black Friday 2014 Deals & Hours
The Best Buy Black Friday 2014 page already promises, “Best Buy deals for Black Friday 2014 will blow you away.” adding that shoppers can expect an, “amazing list of products on sale, both in Best Buy stores and at BestBuy.com.”
There are sill no specific Best Buy Black Friday 2014 deals listed, and we don’t expect a leaked Best Buy Black Friday 2014 ad for several weeks, but it is possible to predict what types of Black Friday 2014 deals you can expect.
The Black Friday page does not list any information or mention Thanksgiving, but MLive reports, “Best Buy will open at 6 p.m. for the second year in a row.” While speaking with Best Buy employees about Black Friday, they expect shifts on Thanksgiving and incredibly early on Black Friday. Last year the Best Buy Black Friday hours lasted through the night until 10PM on Friday, with doorbusters starting at different times.
The Best Buy Black Friday hours starting on Thanksgiving are not much of a surprise, considering the continued trend toward Black Friday shopping events that consumer all of November, including Thanksgiving.
Shoppers can count on Best Buy Black Friday 2014 deals online and in store. If you are visiting a Best Buy on Black Friday 2014, expect long lines even before you eat Thanksgiving dinner. Lines formed on November 20th last year for Black Friday.
Early Best Buy Black Friday 2014 Sales
If you spend a lot of money at the store you can count on early Best Buy Black Friday 2014 access online. Last year Best Buy started online sales of doorbusters on November 25th for My Best Buy members at Elite or Elite Plus status. The free My Best Buy rewards program offers Elite status at $1,500 in spending in a calendar year and Elite Plus at $3,500 in a calendar year.
You can check your My Best Buy account to see if you qualify for these levels. If you do, look for an email near the Monday before Black Friday.
In the My Best Buy benefits section the company still lists, “Plus, advanced online access to our Black Friday deals.”, as a benefit so you can plan to order early without leaving home.
Best Buy Black Friday 2014 Doorbusters
The Best Buy Black Friday 2014 doorbusters are the main reason users camp out overnight at Best Buy and the company is already teasing a wide array of options.
Best Buy promises the Best Buy Black Friday doorbusters will include, “laptops, HDTVs, Blu-ray players, appliances, digital cameras, video games and much more.”
Although the company doesn’t mention the iPad, there is a very good chance we’ll see some type of iPad deal on the front of the Best Buy Black Friday 2014 ad,
Best Buy Black Friday 2014 Price Matching
Last year Best Buy matched Walmart’s advertised Black Friday prices early. The retailer matched an excellent iPad mini deal that included a $100 gift card effectively dropping the price to $199.
This took place online and in stores the Wednesday before Black Friday, so you could get the deal without wasting Thanksgiving or waiting in line for Black Friday.
Look for some form of last-minute price-matching to take place again as Best Buy continues to take on Walmart and other retailers.
Best Buy Black Friday 2014 HDTV Deals
You can count on the 60-inch HDTV to take center stage at Best Buy this year. Dealnews predicts a 60-inch off brand HDTV for $420 and name b rands at $725 this Black Friday overall, and Consumer Reports also chimes in with expectations for big deals on 60-inch or larger HDTVs. Consumer Reports also expects to see deals on newer Ultra HD TV sets commonly called 4K TVs.
These are not specific Best Buy Black Friday 2014 HDTV deals, but you can count on Best Buy to offer similar savings across multiple sizes of HDTVs. Last year the retailer offers 55-inch and 65-inch name brand HDTVs for $499 and $999, plus many other deals on a variety of brands with prices from $79 to $1,999 for name big 3D smart TVs.
Best Buy Black Friday 2014 Apple Deals
Best Buy will also jump into the iPad, iPhone and Apple Black Friday deals. Last year this included $50 to $70 off iPads and other big savings. If the retailer delivers similar discounts you can expect.
- $100 to $200 off MacBook Air, MacBook Pro Retina
- $50 of iPod nano, iPod touch
- $200 off the iMac
- $15 off $100 iTunes Gift Cards
- $10 to $20 off Apple TV and Time Machine
- $50 to $70 off the iPad Air 2
- $100 off an older iPad (Maybe the iPad 4)
It’s tough to tell exactly what Best Buy will do with the changes to the iPhone and iPad lineup this year. Last year they offered some iPhone deals, but not on the new iPhone 5s so we may not see any iPhone 6 Black Friday deals at Best Buy.
Best Buy Black Friday 2014 Gaming Deals
In addition to the $50 off Xbox One deal that starts on November 2nd at multiple retailers you can expect to see some type of PS4 Black Friday deal at Best Buy, possibly up to $60 off or a bundle with games.
Look for $10 to $15 off recently released games like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and 30-50% off gaming headsets and possible controllers for the Xbox One and PS4.
Most game deals are not worth standing in line for, but if you order online the savings are certainly worth your time.
Best Buy Black Friday 2014 Laptop Deals
Look for Best Buy Black Friday 2014 deals on laptops that range from below $200 for a budget notebook up to $1,000 for a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro Retina.
The biggest thing to look for this year are deals on mainstream laptops and ultraportables that Dealnews predicts will hit new records this year with ultraportables at $450.
