Paying back a friend for buying dinner the other night isn’t terribly difficult to do, but if you don’t have cash on hand and aren’t the check-writing type, here are the best iPhone apps for sending money.

Nothing’s easier than sending money to other people right on your iPhone. Well, cash may be easier, but in a world dominated by credit cards, paper money is becoming less and less common, and I’ve personally discovered that I don’t carry cash around with me most of the time, so if I need to pay someone back for something, I find it more and more difficult to do without cash.

On top of credit cards, the ability to pay for goods with our smartphones has also eliminated the need for cash at times, and even if you forget your wallet at home, you can still use Apple Pay to pay for your groceries using your iPhone. You don’t even need your wallet anymore.

If you’re going out to a nightclub and don’t have cash to pay the cover charge, hopefully one of your friends can pay for you, and the nice thing about sending money from your iPhone is that you can pay them back right then and there using one of the many payment apps available for the iPhone.
