It’s hard to think that any device made by Microsoft would demand a premium price tag. That’s not an insult, Microsoft simply didn’t offer premium hardware running its own operating system. For years it focused on hardware maker’s needs, delivering the software that they needed so that users would purchase their machines. The Microsoft Surface line is a huge departure for them, one that’s paying off if we’re judging by the amount of users looking for Surface Black Friday 2015 deals.
The Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 4, Surface Book and Surface 3 are Microsoft’s best achievements in the hardware space. They each take their class in new directions, making Microsoft a pioneer in hardware for the very first time. With a reputation like that, no wonder they cost so much. Normally, Microsoft’s Surface 3 starts at $499, the Surface Pro 3 starts at $699, the Surface Pro 4 starts at $999 and the Surface Book starts at $1499.99. Having been released this past October, there isn’t any Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 Black Friday 2015 deals to be had . There is some savings to be find on the older devices though.

What To Know Before You Take Advantage of Surface Black Friday 2014 Deals
Those are the deals, but remember that there’s more to consider before you head out to your local store or take advantage of a Surface deal you see online.
Know Your Accessories
Unless otherwise stated, no Surface device comes with a very, very important accessory: the Surface Type Cover. Costco & the Microsoft Store will offer some bundled savings, but assume that every other retailer is selling the Surface devices by itself. Direct from Microsoft, the Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book come with a power cable and a Surface Pen. Surface 3 only comes with a power cable. You’ll need to purchase the Pen separately if it’s not included in your bundle. Microsoft sells Surface Pens for $49. Purchasing a Surface Type Cover is $129.99. Note that Surface Pens are interchanagable between each Surface. Unfortunately, Type Covers aren’t. If you’re buying a Surface 3 you will need a Surface 3 Type Cover. If you’re buying a Surface Pro 4 or Surface Pro 3, those covers are interchangable. Docks for the Surface 3 and Surface Pro 3/Surface Pro 4 aren’t swappable either.
Surface Service Plans
When you’re taking advantage of a Surface Black Friday 2015 deal, the first thing you’ll be asked is whether you’d like to purchase a protection plan. These plans are based on the amount of money you paid for your device. You can’t go wrong with a protection plan from Square Trade, they’ll refund you back the regular amount your device costs if they can’t fix it. Since Surface devices are so tiny and integrated, it’s tantamount to getting an assured refund if anything happens. Microsoft offers it’s own Surface Complete protection plans too. Microsoft’s plans cover 2 years of service.
