According to a report that’s backed with evidence, Sprint and RIM will be launching the BlackBerry PlayBook, in Wi-Fi only flavor, on May 8th.
The evidence is an internal document that was snagged by SpanTechular and it indicates that May 8th is the day that the recently released BlackBerry PlayBook will be out and available to Sprint customers. The date only applies to the Wi-Fi only version though.
It unfortunately does not list a date for the WiMax enabled version of the PlayBook which is said to be hitting shelves at some point this summer.
The news comes on the same day that we learned that Sprint would be killing their instant rebate promotion and return to mail-in rebates. The date that that is supposed to take effect? Well, May 7th of course. The day before the PlayBook supposedly hits Sprint’s shelves.
The BlackBerry PlayBook was released earlier this week and we have been fortunate enough to go hands-on and bring you our first impressions of the device that hopes to make a name for itself on the tablet market.
