All broadband eyes are on Baltimore, MD, today. Sprint is beginning to rollout out its XOHM WiMAX service there. This is the big test that will hopefully lead to greater WiMAX coverage in other areas. (Washington DC, Portland, Philadelphia, Dallas/Fort Worth, and Chicago are next up in the larger rollout.)
WiMAX users will need an aircard to access the service (around $45) and you can access the service with a $10 a day pass or with monthly service that costs $35. Interesting that you don’t have to do a contract. At least not at present.
So, if there are any GottaBeMobile.com readers in Baltimore (the service is limited to downtown so far) let us know how if your testing it out and what you’re experiencing.
