CTL 2goPad SL10 Reviewed

Published

on

Our friend Avram Piltch from Laptop Mag got his hands on a CTL 2goPad SL10 and put it through its paces. The Windows slate sounds good on paper, but there are a lot of ‘gotchas’ with this $499 device.

The biggest problems Avram seemed to run into with this device are its short battery life and poor touchscreen experience.

For $499, the 2goPad is a more compelling Windows slate than the Netbook Navigator Nav 9 or the Archos 9PCTablet, but that’s not saying a lot. Sure, its capacitive touchscreen provides better accuracy than those slates’ resistive panels, and it video conferences quite well. However, this tablet’s short battery life and heavy weight make this a poor device for media consumption.

“this a poor device for media consumption.” Another glowing review from Laptop Mag. Let’s review devices not for what they are but for what we expect they should be. To be fair, I’m more than sure that they get the gist of the review right, it’s all of the little underhanded details, like the statement above, which betrays their hidden agenda.

I’m shocked you would link to anything on that site. They do not enjoy a credible reputation.
