Dell Inspiron Duo Shipping December 15th
Dell has released more information about its netvertible, a netbook that can convert to a tablet, by name of the Inspiron Duo. The convertible netbook is now available for order through Dell’s U.S. website right now and will ship on December 15th; UK customers can start ordering on December 2nd. According to Dell, through the holiday season, customers can also visit a Microsoft retail store to purchase the Inspiron Duo with its unique swivel hinge.
Specs for the device include:
- 10.1-inch HD (1366×768) display with capacitive multi-touch and HD accelerator for smooth HD playback; flips from touch to type
- Windows® 7 Home Premium installed
- Dell duo Stage software
- Integrated 1.3MP Webcam and digital microphone
- Two USB 2.0 ports; one headphone port
- Intel® AtomTM N550 dual core processor (1.5GHz)
- 250GB, 5400 RPM and 320GB, 7200 RPM hard drive options*** (vary by region)
- 2GB RAM DIMM DDR3 800 MHz****Optional Inspiron™ duo Audio Station dock with 7 in 1 card reader, JBL speakers, two additional USB 2.0 ports and an Ethernet adapter; charges battery while displaying photos or digital alarm clock
The device will come preloaded with Dell’s proprietary duo Stage user interface, which adds a touch-sensitive UI layer on top of Windows 7 and serves as a hub for digital content, such as movies, photos, music, and books.
If you’re interested in the system for the holiday season, Dell is pricing the dual-core Atom-powered Inspiron Duo at $550, or $650 with the optional JBL duo Audio Station dock.
