EpiPen Smart Case Delivers Peace of Mind to Parents
Veta is an EpiPen smart case that can alert family members when someone needs to open the EpiPen case and use it, so that parents and other family members know that an individual is using the EpiPen and they can check for additional help that the individual may need.
Users replace a standard EpiPen carrying case with the Veta system, which connects to your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or Android devices through Bluetooth.
Currently the Veta EpiPen smart case can hold the EpiPen brand of auto-injectors and alert a support circle of friends or family when the user opens the case. This works with the standard EpiPen, since the connected portion is in the case.

There is an app that can send the location as an alert when the users removes the EpiPen from the case, signaling that they may need to use the auto-injector. This alert only goes to a private circle of users.
With the Veta EpiPen smart case users can also track down and locate a lost auto-injector and get alerts if the user leaves it behind. The case can track the temperature and the expiration date of the EpiPen, so that it is still good when the user needs it.
The Veta case is available for pre-order now for $59, the price will increase after the pre-order period. The case normally comes with a 12 month subscription to the online alert service, but at this point there is a 24 month plan included with the purchase. Users can pre-order today and the device is targeted to ship in February 2016.
