Both Spirnt and Verizon have begun limited roll outs of the newest verson of EV-DO in selected cities. Rev A (sexy title isn’t it?) promises better upload speeds (300–400kbps vs. 50–70kps) and smaller increases in download speeds at an average of 10–15%. Sprint announced this earlier this week and word is that Verizon’s big announcment will happen on Friday, although according to GigaOM Verizon says it has been live with Rev. A in some markets for awhile now.
Of course both companies have new products that allow you to do your thing at the higher speeds if you live or travel to the included market. Me, I’m still waiting for Rev.0 here in my neck of the woods.
