evoz Turns Your iPhone into a Baby Monitor/Baby Logger

Published

on

smart baby monitorIt just got easier for parents to keep an eye on their baby without the need for another bulky gadget to lug around the house. The new evoz service turns your iOS device into a baby monitor, but not just any baby monitor. The evoz app and service delivers a smart baby monitor that can tell the difference between crying and random noise, and it gives you access anywhere you have an Internet connection.

The biggest limiting factor is that you will need two iOS devices to use the service, one to act as the monitor and one to be the receiver. Based on the number of two iPhone and iPad families out there that this won’t be a major issue for all users. evoz is also offering a standalone monitor in September with a starting price fo $120.

In addition to letting you know when your child is sleeping, crying or planing to take over the world the evoz service logs your child’s sleep and crying activities to deliver a snazzy looking chart. You can use this data to get a better understanding of your tot’s schedule and perhaps even make changes to help him or her sleep better.

The evoz service has just launched a beta of the premium service and apps for the iPad and iPhone. You can get a free 14 day trial of evoz by signing up at Myevoz. This trial allows you to remotely monitor your baby from anywhere you have an Internet connection. After the trial is over you can pay $6.99 a month for unlimited access or limit yourself to 30 minutes of listening per day.

Stay tuned for a closer look at evoz and our impressions of this smart baby monitor service.

Does this application use non-ionizing radiation around babies? Because that might be a very bad idea. Many prestigious scientists are warning against exposing babies, particularly at such an early age, to constant radiation. We don’t know the effects yet; but animal studies reveal grave health effects. I think it is a very bad idea to expose children and babies to something that was not adequately tested with respect to health effects.

So you need 2 iPhones? And WiFi?
Than I rather use BabyPhone Deluxe for only 1.99 Euro – a baby monitor since years available in the App Store. You need only 1 iPhone and will be called on any telephone you like, unlimited range included (WiFi is never unlimited…) https://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=306436986&mt=8

You can use evoz with two iOS devices, but you can also order a monitor for your baby’s room (https://myevoz.com/pre-order).  Range is unlimited – the only requrement is that there is WiFi in your baby’s room.
