This year Samsung changed the micro-USB charging port on the bottom to something different. The Note 7 now uses the newer, better, faster USB Type-C charging and sync port. This means it can use faster more powerful chargers, plug in either direction, and even charge other devices from the Note 7 as USB Type-C sends power both directions. This also means old chargers from a previous Samsung device won't work, and even the wall plugs won't put out the full power. They still will recharge the phone fast, but not as fast as Samsung's new 25W USB Type-C charger.
