The F-150 Raptor SuperCrew is a smart, tough Baja-inspired truck that is roomier, lighter and packed with performance and technology.
Ford took the DNA from a Baja race truck to deliver a new experience with a 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine and a 10-speed transmission and the new EcoBoost engine cuts 500 pounds off the weight to deliver better power to weight ratio and a more agile experience driving offroad.
Inside the tempting exterior is a new Terrain Management System, that lets users choose the right mode to handle rugged terrain in a variety of driving environments like snow, mud, sand and more. The new modes include;
- Normal mode for everyday driving
- Street mode for higher-performance, on-road driving
- Weather mode for rain, snow or ice
- Mud and sand mode for muddy and sandy trails and terrain
- Baja mode for high-speed desert running and
- Rock mode for low-speed rock crawling
The F-150 Raptor SuperCrew includes four full-size doors and a roomier interior that offers more legroom for passengers and more room to carry cargo in the cabin. The SuperCrew is 12-inches longer than the F-150 Raptor SuperCab.
“F-150 Raptor means superior off-road capability, from rock crawling to sand running,” said Dave Pericak, Ford Performance global director. “With the addition of SuperCrew, F-150 Raptor customers can leave the pavement behind – without sacrificing comfort and space.”
Shoppers can buy the new F-150 Raptor SuperCrew in Fall 2016. Ford plans to build the new truck in the Dearborn Truck Plant in Michigan.
