Is the Fallout 4 Pip Boy Worth Buying?

The Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition was extremely hard to find before the Fallout 4 release date. It still is hard to find. Not impossible. Hard.

Scalpers are trying to get upwards of $180 for the Pip Boy Edition. For that, you get a copy of the game and a real-life Pip Boy that you can wear around your wrist or put on a shelf to admire. I was fortunate enough to put in a pre-order and here's my assessment after 10 days. 

Don't spend more than $120 on the Pip Boy Edition on it unless you'll go crazy without it. It's cool but it's also a glorified smartphone case. Some of the Fallout 4 Pip Boy alternatives I've seen on Etsy look better than Bethesda's version.

They also look more stable. The Pip Boy looks cool but feels cheap and I managed to break a button within the first three hours. I've been unable to repair it.

The novelty has already worn off and the device has been banished to a shelf right next to some Alien Hominid figurines that I acquired during my time at The Behemoth. I look at them once a year. The Pip Boy will probably get the same treatment.
