If you don't want to sit in one place killing the same things over and over again for hours at a time, you should venture out and do some exploring.

Exploring is going to net you some new enemies to kill and some new quests to finish but you might also encounter a rare legendary enemy that will give you good experience and if you're lucky, drop some useful loot that you can equip to help you in your quest to acquire experience points.

There are also random events scattered around the wasteland that could help you gain valuable experience for your character.
