Protect Your Settlements

During the game, you'll likely see a prompt telling you that a settlement is under attack. If you get this prompt, you'll want to travel and defend for two reasons.

One, to protect it. If you fail to protect it, everyone in the settlement will vanish and you'll be forced to rebuild. And two, to kill enemies for XP.

Sometimes, you'll show up and there will only be a few enemies. Other times, you'll be facing off against a number of enemies. Enemies give you XP and so does the loot that they drop.
