Unless you have a Microsoft Surface 2 or Surface Pro 2 Tablet, chances are you’re going to purchase a stand, or case with a stand, or one of any number of options that are available to prop up your Tablet or eReading device at some point. Stands come in all shapes and sizes so you have plenty to choose from. Manufacturers like Apple and Amazon even make cases and covers that can be manipulated into a stand. One clever model I just picked up at the local Target over the weekend is the TwoHands by Felix.
At first glance the Felix TwoHand looks like a some sort of overly large hair clip or a slender bone for a robotic dog. But when you grab the two tabs at the bottom, the spring opens up the two sides in a pliers like fashion to provide a grip for your device. The open end with two hands (get it?) will wrap around the edges of your device to secure it, while the end with the spring acts as a base to prop up your gadget.
A silicone covering inside the tiny hands should prevent any scratches on those chamfered edged devices from Apple. TwoHands will work with any device that’s less than 10.5 inches. You can slide the hands up or down on your device to get the viewing angle you’re searching for.
I’ve tested it with an iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina Display in both portrait and landscape modes and it works well either way. Heck, even if you have a Surface Tablet with a kickstand, but you wanted to prop up your Surface in portrait mode it’ll work that way as well. Although I’m not sure why you’d want to do that. Even so, it works.
It’s a little cumbersome to toss into a small gadget bag or pocket, but for around the house the size wouldn’t be a bother. Unless you have companions with an affinity for overly large hair clips or a robotic dog. The Felix TwoHands is available for $22.99 at [amazon_link id=”B00AG6NCG2″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Amazon[/amazon_link] and Target for $24.99. It is available in red, green, pink, blue and white.
