In a movie that just might top Google’s re-branding the Android Market as the Google Play Store on the surprise scale, Verizon has released a list of devices that are currently slated to get upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Again, a major carrier based in the United States has released a full list of devices that will be getting Android 4.0 in the future.
No, you are not in the Twilight Zone.
In a statement today, Verizon listed 14 of its devices that will definitely be getting the upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in the future. Unfortunately, it declined to specify as to exactly when owners would be getting the update. But, as we well know, that would just be setting everyone up for disappointment.
Release dates for Android updates, especially major ones, change constantly.
In any event. here is the full rundown:
- HTC ThunderBolt™
- DROID Incredible 2 by HTC
- HTC Rhyme™
- HTC Rezound™
- Motorola XOOM
- DROID BIONIC™
- DROID RAZR™
- DROID RAZR™ MAXX™
- DROID 4 DROID
- DROID XYBOARD 8.2
- DROID XYBOARD 10.1
- Samsung Galaxy Tab™ 10.1

Chief among these are of course the HTC ThunderBolt and the Motorola Droid Bionic, devices that we believe should see the update first. We also have some obvious ones like the Droid 4 and the Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX.
So, no real surprises here.
Now, if you’re phone isn’t here, don’t despair just yet.
Verizon will be updating the page throughout the year as more information becomes available so there is still hope for some of you.
This is something, this transparency in terms of Android updates, that we wanted to see from the mobile world in 2012 and it’s nice to see that Verizon has stepped up to the plate and delivered this list to its customers.
Now, how about some release dates?
We kid, we kid.
