The Galaxy S6 Edge last year was 5.1-inches and too small for many, then the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus was released with a huge 5.7-inch curved screen. It was too big for some, and trying to use it one-handed and navigate the "Edge" was nearly impossible. As a result, Samsung made the Galaxy S7 Edge 5.5-inches this year. A perfect middle ground.

It has the same award-winning 2560 x 1440 Quad-HD resolution, but Samsung still made it better than last year. We don't have numbers on what's different aside from the size, but the new S-AMOLED screen for 2016 is improved and more efficient than last year, meaning better looking video and longer battery life.

With the Galaxy Note 7 recalled and removed from the market, the S7 Edge is their biggest and best flagship phone right now.

New to 2016 the "Edge Apps" and features that appear when users slide a finger on the Edge of the screen now comes out twice as far. Taking up nearly half the screen, instead of a fourth. There are nine panels to swipe through, shortcuts, tools like a compass or measuring tape, and much more. Samsung made the Edge bigger, easier to access, and added lots of useful functions and features.

We can expect even more when its updated to Android 7.0 Nougat sometime in December.
