GBM InkShow: HP TouchSmart Video Review

Published

on

If I could buy one thing for my family this Christmas, it would be HP’s TouchSmart PC. From the finish of the design to the well implemented touch applications, HP nailed the entire experience. My family and friends have totally gotten into the TouchSmart and will be sad to see me ship this off to our HP Magic Giveaway winner. The experience is solidly done, natural, and sets the bar for what we should come to expect in future all-in-one PCs.

In this InkShow video review, we get up-close and personal with the TouchSmart PC: we take a tour of the hardware, show off the software, and throw in a little seven year-old fun at the beginning. We hope you enjoy this special look at a very special computer.

The HP TouchSmart IQ816t is available at various retailers, including shopping.hp.com, and it starts at $1781.

Thanks for the review – I also bought one about a month ago and am very happy with it. Especially my daughter is very happy playing the “cakebaking” game finally on a big screen (as compared to slates and umpc). What is Zoe playing? Any other ideas for comparable games?

Bizarre, I can watch the embedded video in Opera and IE, but it doesn’t show up in Firefox 3.0.4, although all the other inkshows do.

Hmm. Is it possible to get into MediaCenter from the TouchSmart interface?

Son and Dad, that’s really nice.
thanks for the video, I think if I don’t win one on other website participating in the HP giveaway, I’ll get one.

I’ve been wanting this since they first came out. Good review. Can’t wait till more programs get on board or…Windows 7…can you imagine?
