Getting Close To Solving Dell XT Digitizer Issues
GottaBeMobile.com forum member krdu has gotten very close to solving the Dell Latitude XT / N-Trig digitizer issues, thanks to some persistent dialogue with N-Trig. Apparently, N-Trig is aware of the problem driver and boot-up problems causing the “digitizer not found” errors, which involves a driver called GearAspiWDM.sys which is made by a company called Gear Software and is consequently modified by iTunes. Thanks to some good hard detective work by krdu, we might be very close to solving this.
krdu offers up some temporary bandaids that some brave souls might want to test out and verify, but this looks quite promising. Dell and N-Trig – how about taking a look at this for us and releasing a fix already, k?

Better hope krdu doesn’t get a cease and desist letter form Dell or N-trig for the fix(Joking, I think they’d be fine with it). I remember a while back someone fixed the vista creative sound driver and was ordered to remove it, even though it was the only driver for vista that worked properly at the time.

Solution looks great (thanks KRDU & Rob). I have only had the N-Trig dead issue twice, so not that that affected. I consistently get the wireless network die after transferring any large data load (at 200mb to 1gb transfer). Is there anyone working on the wireless issue Rob raised? I’d be glad to help in testing?

@daniel – checkout our forums for instructions on going with a different wirless card instead of the dell broadcom solution

Jeeez, how long have they been selling these and they’re just now “getting close to solving” the problems… Way to stick it to the early adopters.
